The Bean & Berry Lanches with a Bang!! Click here for their site.
The Bean & Berry has expanded hours, a full compliment of wine, beer, and other bar drinks, Sunday brunch from 8-2, and is Rockin!! The grand opening was a huge hit...Dave, one regular who wandered in a few weeks back and is hooked, said this-- "I love this place, its comfortable, causal, they know your name like that old Cheers TV show, and the food/drinks/genuine customer service are super. Not your puppy mill-cookie cutter- run of the mill coffee place, and not a bar atmosphere..a different thing...a good thing" Keep an eye on their web site, email me or them to get on the event and update email list...I will be doing a stand up night there soon enough, and others will be appearing to entertain as they keep ramping up. Stop in this month for specials..there is nothing like this coffee & wine bar in Louisville. Their mission is to serve the community outstanding coffee, wine and food, and create a welcoming place where friends, colleagues, and community members can gather. Specialty coffee with outstanding flavor, amazing Crepes in a huge variety, breakfast burritos, and insanely good sandwiches...tapas, salads, beer/wine cheese + more! They plan events, and have a FREE private lounge with a flat screen TV & DVD player in it for customers to use at no charge for meetings or gatherings. Free wy-fi, comfortable seating, great service!! PH 720 328 6890Location: 305 McCaslin Blvd Louisville, CO, 80027

Information for Foreigners
Come see Holly and I in this whacky play.
The first two weeks of the play "Foreigners" are under our belt, and WOW! (see previous post for full info). Good turn out, and great feedback from attendees. Marcus says "Crazy, confusing, bizarre, out there...never seen anything like it...made me think, made me grateful". One e-mail we received: "Though I had a little hesitation, I went and saw a really different and action packed play last night; "Information for Foreigners". I found it to be thought provoking and emotion evoking.I recommend everyone go check it out…" Rob Roy. See what the reporter wrote in her review after watching it..she nailed it in her summation, was impressed. CLICK HERE FOR REVIEW!See Holly in the article picture..she is one on ground :). Come check it out, and see Pirates of Penzance in July when opens. Support live theatre, get out, ITS FREE..and different!!
See the theater web site, and playing now for info on Foreigners...and upcoming on Pirates. http://www.the73rdavenuetheatrecompany.com/
Chris found this article about this play.
Information for Foreigners
By Griselda GambaroAs a drama of dolor, disbelief, and disappearances, Information for Foreigners literally leads audiences through scenes of torture and brutality. Gambaro sculpted this experimental piece of theatre in order to have audience members become part of the play as a real life event. Using her experiences as an Argentinean during the Dirty War and Disappearances, Gambaro blurred the lines of what is considered theatrical, ridiculous, realistic, and horrible. As tour guides walk audiences through various rooms, we see actors rehearsing theatrical deaths, police torturing prisoners, children playing while their parents are taken from them. Throughout these scenes, tour guides explain to audiences that these are all based on true stories from different parts of Argentina in 1971. Combining puppetry, shadow work, dance, bilingualism, and acting techniques, this production highlights the importance of the Disappearances as history and as a stark allegory for our lives today. 21 actors take on multiple roles of oppressor/oppressed, male/female, alive/dead, actor/audience and many more dualistic, complex relationships to show audiences a ridiculous and nightmarish world of oppression and tribulation.

Play I am in 'Foreigners"
So a fella has got to grow and broaden his horizons and scope!! I diverted from comedy this summer to be in this wild show - “Information for Foreigners”, a crazy and fun play (well fun for the actors..gripping for the audience) up north near I-36 and Federal. It’s FREE, so you can come a couple times over the summer if you like. The 73rd. Ave. Theatre Company presents this educational and social awareness experience- June 16 to August 25 at the 73rd. Avenue Playhouse, 7287 Lowell Blvd. in Westminster. Performances are every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
This piece is a unique interactive adventure in which the audience walks from scene to scene watching the play. The play confronts us with the repression suffered by civilians from the oppressive governments of South America. It is for mature/adult audiences, 16 and up…if you know those 18-35 years olds that may not fully understand the true freedom we enjoy here in America typically, by all means bring them along to see what it looks like when freedom (even life) is threatened. Though heavy themes, adult language, and intense…many scenes are in odd satire and animation, with crazy antics that entertain and at times confuse…it will not all be dark/harsh, and likely you will never see the likes of it again. See the web site for this and other upcoming shows/auditions. www.the73rdavenuetheatrecompany.com
By the way, other great options here are: “The Wizard of Oz”..a childrens show, on Saturdays at 1:30 and Sundays at 11:00 through June 28. “The Pirates of Penzance,” July 10 to August 23, my dsughter Holly in this one. The National Premiere of “Muriel’s Memoirs”* September 4 to October 4. “And Then There Were None” by Agatha Christie, October 16 to November 22. A December holiday show to be announced.

Bovine finals a success
Thanks to all that came out and supported me satuday the 17th!! WOWIEE!!! It was really awesome all the way around. Sold out/high energy crowd/great stand up with fun and funny/Jake at his best…the whole night was exiting and well worth it. The winner Elliot was “off the chain” funny, and Jordon Z. who took second was a hoot…..these guys will likely be seen in big venues by all some day. I was happy with my 3rd place finish, and the other 3 guys were great as well. If you were there we all thank you for the support and energy, I was beyond pleased with all the friends and family I had show up…over 25. if you could not make it, I would encourage you to come down to the Bovine for their Improv and sketch comedy sometime soon….they are really the best kept secret for fun downtown. They have some super talented people, shows of all kinds in normal time frames versus the Bleu cow midnight time, and they are affordable and family friendly during the week. Check ‘em out. http://www.bovinemetropolis.com
I plan to hit some normal time shows down the road, pursue this a bit…I will e-mail and post info on the blog…

The two dates for the semis are January 5th and 12th right now...but might not be in stone...and I am not sure which one I will be slated for. These shows are great, with lots of fun and talented people...and not just comics...dancers, jugglers, singers, improv troops ...it is a hoot!
Thanks for those that came out to support me and voted me in...though I hear I did not suck, or as Jake says "eat sh--". By the way, I saw Mo(Amy) Welch and Jodee Champion from my awesome Bovine class perform at The Comedy Works this month, and they rock!!
Well i am going to leap into my hoopty, with my shorty...and head over to the crib, hang with some peeps...and go off the chart! Mo, how am I doing on the cool and hep talk? See ya.
